Max, friend, i think this very query has been mentioned before, or maybe not, my short-term not being what it was, if it ever really was in the first place. However, and despite being quite computer literate, i actually like the forum style of the LMA. Yes, it's absent the bells & whistles of other sites, but here you gotta keep with the pace, follow the crazy threads, scroll up and down. I love it, wouldn't trade it for any other GD forum. I only post here, nowhere else. As for PM functionality, yeah, that might be a nice addition, but it's not as though i'm losing any sleep not having it (and i rarely sleep anyway), since there's always e-mail and i was never one to get into the whole on-line 'chat' thing. But come on, you gotta admit, and despite your wishes, isn't this the best GD forum around? I mean, hell, we've got _the_ Direwolf! And who's better than he?

Actually Max, been thinking some more, and while that is often a dangerous activity for me, hear me out. I can see that the sorta forum which separates out the topics and where a topic recently added to is moved to the top of the list, does have its uses. But here on the archive, since as the topic moves further down the forum and eventually off the active page altogether, one has to keep asking the same questions over and over again. For the 100th time, best Birdsong alltime, best jam sequence, best GD era, etc. However, given my penchant for not remembering details such as dates and stuff, the LMA format works for me. I am the sort of person who needs to be reminded again and again of those sweet show moments. Every week or so everything is recycled and shows up new and squeaky clean. Does this make any sense?

I can totally relate. - I find stuff here like "How do you download torrents?" and I copy all the comments and save to my laptop == only problem: when I go to loook for them I have no idea where they reside on my laptop!!! Seriously. I can't even remember that much so repetition works for me, but I haven't tried "Deadhook" yet so maybe there is salvation. - Ashes

Ashes: long time since i checked in with you! forgive my errant ways. the road is dark and long; and yet with songs to fill the air. hope things are sunny and bright up Boston way, and may make my way up there in next week or two as i am missing those interlocking, crazy streets in the downtown, even the awful openness of Gov't Center, and finally will end up in Cambridge, Central Sq area where it still gets a little crazy, though the gentrification is ever on a steady pace to take over like it did in Harvard Sq. Got something coming your way soon; will arrive on pace with the river and tide. Peace friend; Arbuthnot

Arbuthnot:
Thanks for checking-in. Fell into a hole on the road so now I'm stuck doin'the existential search; not much music down here, however I am streaming a Boston show (1991-09-26)--- in particular, the post-drums of "TOO>Dark Star>Attics" with the encore of: "Brokedown>We Bid You Good Night" --- once again confirmation that darkness has its own light.

Thank you and be well, - AshesRising

TheDaliTrauma: no, definitely not - you're right it was 1991 w/Bruce -- I was getting ready for 10/1/'94 with the incredible "So Many Roads"... - thanks for letting me know; I'll edit the post. Hope all is well, - Ashes

I actually prefer this over deadhook - I find too much distracting.
